Spent 6 nights at the Crowne Plaza City Centre and enjoyed it very much. The hotel is clean, comfortable and fresh. The staff was terrific - friendly and professional and accomodating. Location is great - close to Centraal Station but still quiet. Very easy walk to Dam or to Jordaan areas. Tram stop right outside front door. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone !!

Spent 10 days here on vacation. Hotel close to train station so we didnt need a cab just walked to the hotel. Was pleased with the way the hotel looked. They were doing work on part of the building but never seemed to bother us. They had to move us from our first room do to a/c issues but easily enough we only had to move one room down and had assistance from staff. Beds and linens are very comfortable and rooms were neat and clean. Great location since we spent our time walking bike riding and using the tram to get around. We accidently left some of our purchased items. The staff at the hotel was friendly and shipped it back to us in the states within a timely period. Overall pleased with the experience and would stay here again. Oh and as for security the door locks at night and you must show room key and verify name to enter. Cameras and speakers allow for communication before entry. There was always someone at the front desk greeting guests and watching the front door. I never once felt unsafe. Really quite the opposite.

Well, I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised after reading other reviews! This hotel is in the middle of the centre, around the corner from the central station. In addition the hotel has been recently renovated, so the rooms where fantastic with very comfortable beds . The bar with fire place was great. Only missed the swimming pool that they no longer had, however we could still use the fitness room. Overall definitely recommendable!

Even though refurb going on, most brilliant hotel I ever stayed in. Front office staff very welcoming and friendly! Newly refurbished rooms were clean, modern and it's the best sleep I had in ages. My partner and me travel a lot to Amsterdam for business and I think I found my new favorite hotel! Would recommend to everyone.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed at. There are many much nicer places to stay in the city centre. Very rude staff and it's a very dirty old hotel. Location was adequate, but the disrespect by staff and dirtiness far outweigh the one and only perk. They will not upgrade you even if you are Platinum and it id guaranteed upgrade to best room available. I do not believe any room at this hotel would be adequate for a Crowne Plaza....Do yourself and family a favor and stay anywhere else in Amsterdam...People in this city are very cordial and friendly except at this hotel!
